About Dr. Deans
& His Practice

​Christopher Deans, MD is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in partial and total knee replacement, minimally-invasive total hip replacement, technology-assisted joint surgery, as well as caring for joint infections, joint fractures, and painful total joints.

 

Dr. Deans serves patients throughout the Omaha metro area and the Midwest region in partnership with the University of Nebraska Medical Center. As an Assistant Professor, he is dedicated to orthopedic research and education, publishing multiple research articles and book chapters yearly and lecturing locally and nationally on the latest joint replacement techniques and advancements. He also volunteers his time with participation in multiple professional organizations, described below.

Outside of a busy orthopaedic practice, Dr. Deans is blessed with his supportive and loving wife, 3 kids, and dog, who are his life. His passion extends to serving the underprivileged, contributing to his Church community, as well as pursuing health and fitness.​

Education

Dr. Deans received his undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, followed by a medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC).

 

He then completed his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery, also at UNMC. Following residency, Dr. Deans and his family relocated to Indianapolis for fellowship training in hip and knee reconstruction at the prestigious Indiana University Hip & Knee Replacement Fellowship under the direction of Drs. Michael Meneghini, Luke Warth, Leonard Buller, and Andrew Parr.

 

He is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), Mid-America Orthopedic Association (MAOA), MusculoSkeletal Infection Society (MSIS), as well as Gold Humanism Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society.

Assist patients in improving, maintaining, or regaining mobility, in an effort to stay active in whatever capacity provides each patient purpose, joy, and value in their lives, as well as for the maintenance of their overall health.
